Dr. Joshua Gordon is a comprehensive restorative dentist dedicated to helping patients rebuild their confidence through the power of implant dentistry and full-arch smile transformations. Originally from Virginia Beach, Dr. Gordon is an alumnus of the VCU School of Dentistry. He further honed his surgical and medical skills by completing a one-year hospital-based residency at the Dallas VA Medical Center and is a graduate of The Foundry’s Comprehensive Implant Residency Program.
Dr. Gordon is committed to continuous learning, having completed hundreds of hours of continuing education to stay at the forefront of implantology. Since moving to Charlottesville, he has integrated advanced technologies into the practice, including 3D-guided surgery workflows, photogrammetry, and digital smile design. His care philosophy combines surgical precision with artistic design, centering on clear communication to ensure a seamless experience from consultation through restoration.
Outside the office, Dr. Gordon is a massive UVA sports fan. He remains very close with his parents and four siblings and loves spending time with his fiancée, Lucy, and their dog, Charlie.
Having completed advanced implant training through the International Congress of Oral Implantology, Dr. Paape has been recognized as a Fellow of the ICOI.

Currently, he generously shares his expertise as a mentor for the Colorado Surgical Institute. Dr. Jim Ervil is a hospital-based, residency-trained dental anesthesiologist dedicated to providing the highest standard of safety and comfort for his patients. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree with honors from the Loma Linda University School of Dentistry. Following dental school, he was accepted into the Dental Anesthesiology Residency at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY—one of the oldest and most prestigious programs of its kind.
Dr. Ervil’s training goes far beyond standard dental care. His background includes extensive clinical rotations in Intensive Care, Cardiology, and Pediatric Medicine, equipping him with the expertise to manage complex medical histories. He holds advanced certifications in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Basic Life Support (BLS).

We have three children and two precious grandchildren, Saylor and Blake, who bring so much joy to our lives. In my free time, I love snuggling with my dog, Dolly Madison, spending time with my grandkids, playing Setback, and hitting a golf ball around whenever I can.

Hi! My name is Heather, and I was born and raised right here in Charlottesville. I’ve been part of the practice for 22 years, and it truly feels like family. I’m married with two wonderful children — my daughter is in her senior year of high school, and my son is a junior at Virginia Tech. At home, we also have a sweet Black Lab who keeps us smiling! Outside of work, I love spending time with my family, gardening, and hunting for fun treasures while thrifting.
